Heart Reschedule Tour Following Ann Wilson’s Cancer Treatment
Heart have rescheduled their Royal Flush Tour dates following Ann Wilson‘s cancer-related operation and “preventative chemotherapy” treatment.
The tour will return Feb. 28 in Las Vegas, and will make stops in 18 other cities including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Knoxville, along with Montreal, Ottawa, and Québec.
In May, Heart spoke with Rolling Stone about them performing together on tour for the first time in five years. “We just got really tired of not playing together, and we both wanted to do a Heart tour,” Wilson said. “So then there is this question hanging in the air: Can Heart be Heart without Ann or can Heart be Heart without Nancy? It never could.”
Heart postponed the tour in July after Wilson had an operation to “remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,” she shared in a statement.
“The operation was successful and I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy and I’ve decided to do it,” Wilson said at the time. “And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”
Wilson’s health-related leave forced the band to postpone their remaining 2024 North American tour dates. The first leg of the Royal Flush tour took place in April and May with plans to resume in August and September. Wilson expressed her desire to perform the postponed 2024 gigs, while adding she’ll return to the stage in 2025, in a statement. In May, Heart also canceled their summer European tour, originall scheduled for June and July, in order for Wilson to “undergo a time-sensitive but routine medical procedure,” which included a minimum recovery time of six weeks.
Tickets are on sale, and previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new tour dates, with additional dates being added to the trek as they are confirmed.
